CODless: Prepaid Discounts ("CODless", "the app", "we") gives buyers a discount for paying online instead of Cash on Delivery on Shopify stores. This policy explains what information the app collects when a merchant installs it, how we use it, and the choices merchants and their customers have.
Information we collect
From the merchant's store, through the Shopify API, when the app is installed:
- Store details: shop domain, store name and the access token Shopify gives the app.
- App settings the merchant chooses: discount %, products or collections, payment method names, texts and display options.
- For orders that used the CODless discount: the order ID and number, order total, discount amount, currency, order date and whether it was the customer's first order. This powers the app's analytics and the free plan's order limit.
- Theme settings, read only to show whether the app embed is turned on.
We do not store customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses or payment details. Order webhooks from Shopify may contain this information; the app reads only the fields listed above and discards the rest.
On the storefront, the app saves the buyer's payment choice (pay online or Cash on Delivery) as a cart attribute in Shopify so the discount and payment rules can be applied at checkout. The app does not use tracking cookies, analytics pixels or advertising tools.
How we use information
- To apply the prepaid discount and show or hide payment methods at checkout.
- To show the merchant analytics about prepaid orders.
- To count discounted orders for the free plan and manage billing through Shopify.
- To provide support when the merchant contacts us.
We never sell personal information and never use it for advertising.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that run the app for us: our hosting and database providers, and Shopify itself. They process data only on our instructions. We may disclose information if required by law.
Storage, security and retention
- Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in an encrypted database.
- Access is limited to what is needed to run and support the app.
- When a merchant uninstalls the app, Shopify asks us to delete the store's data, and we delete all of it, including settings and order analytics.
- When a customer asks Shopify to erase their data, we delete the analytics records for that customer's orders.
Your rights
Merchants can request access to, correction of or deletion of their data at any time by emailing us. Customers of a store should contact the merchant; we handle data requests that Shopify sends to us on their behalf. If you are in the EEA, UK or another region with data protection laws, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
